Bún chả – Vietnamese Grilled Pork With Noodles


That is the two style of Vietnamese grilled pork, Bún thịt nướng in Southern and Bún Chả nướng in Northern. They all consist of grilled pork served with vermicelli rice noodles.

There will be nothing special if we just only grill pork till brown. However, the unique recipe of Vietnamese grilledpork is created by the all-important marinade that made from an aromatic mix of shallots, garlic, lemongrass, honey, fish sauce, and sesame oil.

Time for marinate is also a key element determining the delicious of the dish. Therefore, the meat should be marinaded overnight to ensure that every bit of pork was permeated.

If we call Thịt nướng in Vietnamese, the pork should be cut into thin slice. While chả nướng means the pork is minced, shaped into flattened balls.

When serving, do not forget go dish with fresh mint, shredded lettuce, sliced cucumbers, pickled carrots and daikon, toasted peanuts, scallion oil, fried shallots. Moreover, to enhance the grilled pork, there needs a bowl ofdipping sauce.
