Quang Ngai

Quang Ngai is located in Central Vietnam, at an almost equal distance from the two ends of the country. Like other provinces in this area, Quang Ngai is characterized as having mountains on one side and the sea on the other. The population consists of a majority of Kinh people.

Quang Ngai is famous for the cultural vestiges of Sa Huynh, Chau Sa Citadel, Ong Pagoda, Mai Son Pagoda, and Ba Gia Battlefields. Quang Ngai province is 833km from Hanoi on National Highway 1. Its provincial capital also called Quang Ngai was built by the Tra Khuc River, and lot of its ancient features still remain.

Quang Ngai is known for its vast sugar-cane plantations, sugar production and salt marshes. The province produces various kinds of sugar, the most famous is white, glassy sugar-candy which can be used to treat coughs.
