Deputy Foreign Minister and Head of the Foreign Ministry’s State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs Nguyen Thanh Son said the event is a tribute that the Party, State and people give to those who rendered their services to the nation.

It is a chance for Vietnamese expatriates to learn about the glorious national history and express their gratitude to fallen soldiers.
As part of the Vietnam Summer Camp programme, young Overseas Vietnamese on July 25- 26 offered incense at the President Ho Chi Minh monument and a historical-cultural site dedicated to Hung Kings in district 9 of the city.
They then toured Reunification Palace and Cu Chi tunnel, and met with their local peers.

Also on July 26, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan visited families of war invalids and martyrs in Hanoi. Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan offered incense at Dong Loc intersection relic site in the central province of Ha Tinh.
