VietNamNet Bridge – The
flag hoisting ceremony is performed daily at 6 am in the Ba Dinh
Square, in front of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. This morning, June 7, the
ceremony became special because it was aired live with the flag salute
ceremony on Truong Sa Lon in Khanh Hoa Province.
Whether
it is sunny or rainy, at 6am every day, soldiers of the Command for
Protection of Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum perform the flag hoisting and flag
salute rituals at the Ba Dinh Square.
Going first are soldiers with the flag.
The
34 guards representing 34 first soldiers of the Armed Propaganda Unit
for National Liberation, the predecessor of the Vietnam People’s Army
today.
Departing from behind Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the group paraded in the melody of the song of the army to the flagpole.
Three soldiers moved forward to prepare the flag hoisting ceremony.
The rain stopped several minutes before the flag hoisting ceremony.
The mausoleum gate began to open.
Waiting for the signal ...
… and the flag was released.
The flag flew on the flagpole of over 29 meter high in front of the mausoleum.
After
the ceremony, the guards paraded in front of the mausoleum and ended
the ceremonies. At 9pm every day, the flag lowering ceremony with
similar rituals is held.
At
the same time this morning, the flag salute ceremony took place on the
Truong Sa Lon Island in Khanh Hoa. The two ceremonies were televised
live on the national TV channel VTV1 (see the video)
