This is a picture of Vietnamese workers from Hongfu Việt Nam shoe factory (Hoằng Hóa, Thanh Hóa). They're the victims of a food poisoning incident and were being treated in local hospital.
A reputable press in Singapore, Straits Times posted this picture on both online and printed editions, claiming that these are 500 Chinese workers being mistreated due to the current riot in Vietnam. Facing vast insistencies on correcting the misinformation, they revised the online edition. The printed edition however has been sold and spreaded to a large audience before the revision was made
We don't know for sure why they did this, but we strongly recommend an apology from the press and their government, also they should recall all the printed editions and have a formal letter of apology. And before the local authorities start their work, we call the netizens to unite and make effort to clarify the misinformation.
